Our journey started in 2003 when I moved from Wisconsin to Ohio. The first time I mention Nate in my journal is June 2nd, 2004. "...her brother is really cute!!!!! :) I don't tell anyone though. His name is Nathaniel and he goes to my school so I see him in the halls every once in a while."

I continued to crush on him throughout middle and high school.
August 29, 2004 "Nathaniel looked so good. He looks good in anything. All he was wearing were jeans and a long sleeved t-shirt" It's no wonder I still love when he wears long sleeved t-shirts. Like, they are my favorite.
But then there were days like March 13, 2005 "Nathaniel wasn't that cute today." Oops.....
He made my heart flippity flop back and forth because 17 days later on
March 30, 2005 I wrote
"Today is Nathaniel's birthday...I don't know if I like him or not now. Today I think I started to again. But I don't want to. I just can't help myself. I still can't tell if he likes me. Maybe if I find our if he likes me I will be able to decide if I like him or not. He's a nice, cute, funny guy. I just don't know." Oh, the uncertainty!
Okay and the last journal entry I'll share is from July 10, 2005 which takes place at my first church dance. "I turned them all down. Some of the people I said "no" to I didn't even know. I don't remember who was asking me but Nathaniel came over and just pushed the other guy away and asked me. It was so funny. I had to say no though since I turned everyone else away....after I sat down Nathaniel came and asked again so I decided I would because it was the last song. It was more fun dancing with him. He talked more and got a little more into it...As we were dancing, Austin E. walked by and says to Nathaniel "So you finally got her to dance with you?" He didn't respond. I think he was a little embarrassed. Does that mean he likes me if he was trying to get my to dance with him? I don't know."
I guess our "relationship" stayed like this for many years. Never really knowing who likes who and if we even like each other! We were friends but never did much outside of church or school activities. He asked me to senior homecoming and I asked him on a group date the summer after graduation.

We finally got our act together in December 2012 (after he served a 2 year mission for our church in Brazil) and started dating officially (that's a good story for a whole post sometime in the future). We were engaged April 2013 and married August 10, 2013.

Since then we've been happy as clams! We love snuggling during thunderstorms, watching Everybody Loves Raymond, hanging out with all our family close by, going to the family cabin in TN, and using our MoviePass to see as many movies as our hearts desire!
